  • The mission statement of Boy Scouts is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
  • We do this by teach
ing civic responsibility, respect for the outdoors and service.
  • There are 91 Units in the Santa Clarita Valley and over 2000 Scouts.
  • Scouts have contributed over 30,000 service-hours to the Santa Clarita Valley last year alone.
  • Over 30 Eagle Scouts were awarded in SCV last year.
  • We maintain a local service-center in support of our 1500+ adult volunteers and parents.
  • We are looking to support the funding of an additional full-time professional to assist in membership growth and to expand the reach of the Scouting programs in our underserved areas of Newhall and Canyon Country.
  • Boy Scouts of America enjoys an 11% market share of the total available youth in SCV. Our goal is to increase this membership to a 13% share.  This can only be done with additional professional support and broader financial resources.
  • 83% of men surveyed in the 2005 Harris Study on Scouting believe that the values taught in Scouting continue to influence them today.
  • Those who were Scouts are more likely to have higher levels of education, higher earnings and to own their own homes.
