October Scout Spotlight - Corey from 228
My name is Corey and I’m 16 years old and live in the Santa Clarita Valley in Southern California. I’m a junior at Bishop Alemany High School and I play on the school’s volleyball team. I live with my parents, my three brothers, one sister, and my dog. I’m currently a Life Scout with Troop 228 and was introduced to scouting early in life because my dad ran the Cub Scout program. I would go on campouts with him and my older brother before I was even a Tiger. Now my older brother is an Eagle Scout, I’m a Life Scout, and my younger brother is a Star. I just finished a 6 month term as the SPL, which although was very difficult because it was entirely during the COVID pandemic, it was also very rewarding because I got to get really creative since no one had ever led a troop virtually before. I’m starting to work on my Eagle project and hope to finish by next summer.
